Hamann BMW-M5 Edition Race Tuning

Exterior An exterior of the car was introduced to the publicity in two colors (mat black and blue). The most radical change on the bodywork of M5 is its general broadening – so called Wide Body. A front bumper is connected with a mask (typical for the BMW cars). The bigger hole for an air intake to the cooler and smaller holes for disc brakes, are situated in the bottom part of the bumper. The broadening (wide body) is used to the off-take of a warmed air from front brakes and for the intake to the rear ones. The rear bumper is redesigned to the whole shape of a BMW car. A diffuser (prevents air turbulences behind the car) is situated in a bottom part of the bumper. Four oval 76mm Duplex exhaust tips are installed at the side. There are sensors on both bumpers which help to park better. Also we can find decent but sporting spoiler on the trunk door. There is also a spoiler in the window which is optically extending the roof. Hamman also changed stock mirrors to the carbon ones with the blinkers. Also stock wheels replacement is one of the exterior changes. They are black alloy wheel discs with dimensions 9x21” in the front (255/30 tires) and 10,5x21” in the rear (295/25 tires)

InteriorThe interior is in the red-black style. There is a red colored carbon is used on the steering wheel, a center of the console and other parts. The seats are coated with a quality leather (also in red and black). They are also heated and ventilated. Stock pedals was removed and replaced for the sporting Hamman pedals. Performance tuning: The performance tuning: The 5 liters, 10 cylinders engine hidden under the red carbon cover was improved by the HM/M+60 sporting kit (a re-programming of the control unit, a removal of the limiter, an air filter, a catalyzer ). This has caused an increasing of the performance from 507hp to 537hp (347kW). The modification of the heads of cylinder and the exhaust manifold has increased the performance to 567 hp (417kW). A maximum torque is about 533Nm and the top speed is 320kmph. That’s nice, isn’t it?

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 tuning by Simon Norris

After some time, we have a another representative of automobiles from the producer with three diamonds in sign, the idol of almost all tuners – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution SWB of a 9th generation. Its change to the one of fastest cars in the world was provided by also famous, a 28 years old tuner Simon Norris, a founder of Norris Designs company. A lot of powerful cars was made in his workshop, for example: 1. Nissan 200SX S13 – 600 hp2. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR – 580 hp3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII RS – 730 hp4. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR RS – 612 hp5. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX SWB – we talk about it today
But first, we’ll talk about stock Evolution:
Because Simon Norris is a defender of a performance tuning before a styling, so in this part of the article we talk about values of the stock engine..
Volume of engine:
2 liters (1997 ccm)
Type:
petrol
Maximum output:
227 kW (309 hp) / 6500 rpm
Maximum torque:
403 Nm / 4400 rpm
0-100kmph acceleration:
5,7s
Maximum speed:
250km/h
Wheel drive:
AWDBecause this site is a tuning-oriented, a stock production isn’t very important for us, so let’s move to the modified one. As I said at beginning, Simon Norris is the tuner with ambitions for speed. But don’t worry! He took care also about visual side of tuning.
Exterior:
As you have noticed on worldwide tuning scene, tuners use distinctive and provocative colors. Simon Norris isn’t an exception, so he bet on the Kawasaki catalogue and chose Kawasaki ZX-10 with a green pearl. He modified a 5-seats sedan to the two-door sport car with an anticorrosive modification. He lowered a roof to ensure better aerodynamics. Also a change of stock back-up lights to the pure ones and a change of stock rear and side (with the car’s tank cap inside) windows to Lexan windows are important modifications. A safety frame improves higher safety. Of course, lighter cars are better suited for sprints, so Simon used kevlar fibre components in his Evolution XI. Thanks to them, the car thin down from 1400kgs to 1080kgs. Ladies, that’s a diet! And what all is a part of the carbon body-kit? • GT Fabrications mudguards• Seibon hood designed to carry the ram air as much as possible• Carbontrix front bumper• Chargespeed boot cover• Raceonusa rear spoiler• carbon roof• carbon diffuser – prevents from an air turbulence to provide better stability on the trackFor they searching exhaust tips in the rear bumper, it’s waste of time, they’re situated in the side doorsteps. To improve stability on the track, Simon Norris has decided to broaden mudguards and install Volker Racing CE28-N – an 9,5J18 alloy wheel disk with the Avon ZZR tyres in a 256/35 ZR18 dimension. To brake this wheels, he used 8 piston brake (32 mm vented brake disk) Brembo with Ferodo relining.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 SWB - tuning by Norris Designs:

Interior:
In an interior, we can find only essential things for the car which want to achieve great goals. There are very comfortable and famous Sparco seats and steering wheel. A faster transmission is provided by more and more popular sequential shift. As in exterior, lightweight carbon parts (side shutters, door filling, dashboard, tank cap, deck) are also used inside the beast. A top dog in the end – the performance. It’s necessary to say, that the car was dismantled to smallest parts. And only few of them got back. A change of stock parts to the sporting ones caused high increase in the sprint performance and speed. Car uses fuel assigned for racing cars – Klotz 118 Octane Race Fuel.
Volume of engine:
2300 ccm3
Type
petrol
Maximum output:
619 kW / 814hp – quite high increase against stock
Maximum torque:
860 Nm
0-100kmph acceleration:
2,5 seconds
Maximum speed:
346 km/h (215 Mph)
1 mile sprint:
around 9 seconds
Wheel drive:
AWDThis is caused by the parts directly from Norris Designs workshop: forged pistons Je Pistons, 25 in-line oil cooler, intake and exhaust vents, valve springs, exhaust drop-in, forged crank shaft, intercooler, water cooler with forced circulation, ignition system CDi, gas tank, exhaust system. I won’t mention other parts, only producers of other parts - Crower, K&N, Motec, HKS, SARD, Greddy, ...

Mazda RX-8 Simoni Racing – a conjunction of a beauty of woman and a beauty of car

An Italian company Simoni Racing has for already several years presented great hot-rod “delicacies”, near which the sexy models in bikini pose, but of course without them, too. Simoni Racing is dealing especially with the rebuilding of interior (steering wheels, gear stick heads, alarms etc.) and lighttuning (neon lights, stroboscopes…). Mazda RX-8 in a serial form:
Mazda with a serial mark RX-8 is one of the sportiest cars from among “serials”. In 2004 it got on the market as a follower of mostly abroad famous Mazda RX-7. A bodywork went through various changes and it finished with a very extreme looks. In the car park will you probably get a biggest admiration at opening the back door, which open into opposite side than we are used to. Since it is a sporty car, size of a luggage space (290 litres) is sufficient. RX “eight” is sourced with two types of the engine Wankel, both of which have a capacity of 1.3 litres for these types of RX-eights:
1. Renesis
Output: 141 kW at 7000 rpm
Torque: 220 Nm / 5000 rpm
0 – 100 km/h: 7,2 sec.
Topspeed: 223 kph
2. Revolution
Output: 170 kW at 8200 rpm
Torque: 211 Nm / 5500 rpm
0 – 100 km/h: 6,4 sec.
Topspeed: 235 kph The only disadvantage of this model apparently dwells in a higher burnup (cca. 11 litres), but what wouldn’t man do for his sweetheart? Well, it’s inevitable to nosh.

So, let’s begin with a rebuilt „Mazdie“ with mark RX-8:
It’s obvious that this adjustment wasn’t carried out in some „plain“ garage. Everything is risen into the smallest details. A front bumper is indented and split into several parts. There is a slit (overstuffed with dark-grey metallise) in the middle , which allows an access of ram air to the cooler, and the openings to its sides to the disk brakes. For drain of a hot air to be also secured, there are serial openings on the fenders, filled with metallise as well. A side thresholds are adapted to the outlines of RX-8. On the back bumper there is a diffusing screen preventing the air from whirling behind this sting. Above the diffusing screen there is a serially placed triangular fog-lamp, over which is a place for attachment of the registration number. The shape of a bottom part is adapted to a position of black oval poles of an exhaust system „Duplex“. On the trunk door there is a pressing wing in a bodywork color installed. Front and back lights remained in a serial state. A sporty look is secured by five-spoked electron discs, put into low-profile tyres, behind which we can see a disk brakes with a red varnished tiling. Everybody surely also noticed a blue-tinted windscreens, labels of Simoni Racing company and a blue underlightment by a neon tubes.
Mazda RX-8 tuned by Simoni Racing:
Changes in the interior are also more than bold. The serial steering wheel was exchanged for a „shaggy one“ from Simoni Racing company. A chrome head of a handbrake is signed with a same mark. A central panel includes a big tachometer with a signal light, which turns on, when it is a high time for changing a gear. The seats are still serial in black-and-red leather. The interior is well lit with blue LED lights and neon lights. After opening a luggage space we get a sight surely desired by many tuners. And why is it so beautiful? In a spare wheel space there is an amplifier secured by a perspex cover. On the sides we can see big subwoofer speakers. Behind a back seats there are a bottles with an NX (Nitrous Express) nitrous oxide (a dream of nearly every upholder of sprints) attached. A trunk is of course also lit by blue LED neon lights.
